Tim Miller will step down as executive director of the Gambling Commission for Great Britain in September 2026. He departs after a decade of service, concluding his oversight of recent regulatory updates.
During his tenure, Miller directed the expansion of the organization’s research framework. He managed the creation and launch of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain, which operates as the largest survey of its category worldwide. The initiative provided regulators with expanded data to shape policy decisions.
Implementation of Regulatory Reforms
Miller also coordinated the commission’s execution of the Government’s Gambling Act Review White Paper. His work introduced updated requirements for age verification, financial vulnerability assessments, remote game design standards, and direct marketing restrictions. These measures align with broader regulatory objectives to improve market safety and integrity.
Miller stated, "The position has been the most significant period of my career, and I am prepared for the next challenge." Sarah Gardner, acting chief executive of the Gambling Commission, acknowledged his decade of service and thanked him for his contributions to regulatory development.
